Welcome to our November Blog Hop....

The Colours of Christmas

If you have come from Alson's blog welcome and I hope you are enjoying reading about all the ideas and being inspired. If you want to go back to Alison's Blog to see the full list of bloggers then follow this link.

Today I want to look at the "Colours of Christmas". This idea was inspired by Christ Lothian who created  colour pallets to assist in the creation of scrap book pages or cards for this Christmas Season. Using the Close to My Heart paper colours that are available this year, Chris grouped them together to create three different Christmas Themes.  Having been inspired by Chris I thought I would try and use these three colour pallets and create the same Christmas card using each colour pallet.

I had a lot of fun making these three cards using the same format but choosing different colours from each colour pallet. You can now see how easy it would be to make your cards very personal.  Just another little gem of information.  These cards are not my own creation.  If you check out the
Item Number: G1137

you will find that the first card using the Traditional Christmas colour pallet came from the instructions in the WYW and then I just adapted it to use the other papers.  Hope you have got inspired with the alternative colours to use over Christmas for your cards, scrapbook pages or gifts. If you wish to create these cards and want to know what papers and embellishments I used then please send me a message.

Welcome to our October Blog Hop....

If you have come from Alson's blog welcome and I hope you are enjoying reading about all the ideas and being inspired. If you want to go back to Alison's Blog to see the full list of bloggers then follow this link.

Today I would like  to explore the new "Make it from Your Heart" Volume 3.  This has just arrived in the new catalogue and as part of this blog hop I would  help you to work out  how to have fun with scrapbooking using the "Make it from Your Heart" ideas.

What I thought I would go through today was my way of using this great resource to make your scrapbooking a little easier.  First thing I do is pick my photos for the project and count them.

Here I have a lovely group of photos from a trip to Trentham a couple of months ago with some great friends.  We had a wonderful weekend and I wanted to capture the sights. I  picked my photos and there were 6 that told the best story. I then checked the "Make it from Your Heart" book and I  found a layout which uses 6 photos. In the book, when you look at the index it tells you how many photos to use for each layout, which makes your selection easy.

This is the layout from the book that I chose. As you can see from this page the photos include one poster and one landscape placed photos plus other smaller photos to be included and this fitted in well with the photos I had chosen.  I then needed to decide on what paper to use. As the paper suite of October is "Falling for You" and the colours suited my photos I decided to use this paper to show of my photos and use the compliments that come with it.

When you get the compliments they are sorted into groups of four so from one set of complements you can make 4 double page spreads and will have used All of the pieces. I chose the "Falling for You" complements. The picture shown is the assortment that I decided to use for my page.

So as you can see I selected all the paper and compliments from the pack that I wanted to use. I then cut the paper to fit exactly as per the instruction in the
"Make It from Your Heart" Vol 3.

I have laid out the paper that I have cut exactly as per the instructions.

Then just add my photos and  complements, finished off with some gems and last,  but the most important, I told my story in the journalling box.  For this particular project I used the products in the "Falling for You" Workshop Your Way.  This made the decision of purchasing easy as I did not need to think what patterned paper, plain paper or complements to buy it all came together in one pack. All is finished and it took me only 30 minutes to create this page with the wonderful help that I got from my  "Close to My Heart" products.  The  "Make it FromYour Heart" book has so many great ideas and if you just follow the layout on every page of this book and used the Workshop Your Way kits you will have your scrapbooking done quickly and thoroughly enjoy doing it.

Hopefully this will help you with your scrapbooking.

Happy Scrapbooking

Today we are looking at my favourite product in our New Annual Inspirations book for 2017 and 2018.

If you would like to check out all the wonderful ideas in our New Annual Inspirations just click on the picture or this link.

I have looked through the Annual Inspirations 2017 2018 and I love the ideas and products on nearly every page. The product that has caught my eye and my imagination is the Cut Above Layout Kits.  This product recently came out in the latest Seasonal Expressions 2 where we were introduced to "Adventure", "Party Time" and "Little One". These kits are still available to purchase til the end of this month and they include 2 page layouts and 2 pocket layouts and at a cost of $23.00 they are really great value, but of course only available for a short time.  I have purchased these kits and have really enjoyed putting them together and now waiting for my photos to arrive to add them to the pages. . It is a quick kit that can be done in an afternoon. All you need to complete is your adhesive and an album to put the pages in.

In the Annual Inspirations they have included two kits that will be available to purchase for the length of this catalogue - that is one whole year from August 2017 til July 2018.
The layouts are

These excellent kits enable you to create a whole album quickly.

The kits includes:
Materials to make 10 coordinating 2-page scrapbook layouts, including die-cuts, stickers, photo placeholders, and instructions. Also includes 11 top load Memory Protectors™.
Slide the coordinating Picture My Life™ The Story Begins Baby Boy cards (Z3368) or Baby Girl cards (Z3388) into 12" × 12" divided Memory Protectors and add them to your album for even more pages.
When you buy this kit at full retail price, you can then purchase and save 30% on a My Legacy™ album if you add it to the same order!
You then have a complete album for your own family story or you can make it as a gift for a new family member.  What a pleasure it is to scrapbook new babies.  Such an exciting time in a family life and such a wonderful gift to make for a precious one.   I am now trying to get myself organised to do one of these albums for the little ones in my extended family.

I hope these kits help you to get inspired to try scrap booking as a new hobby.  I have thoroughly enjoyed scrap booking now for 15 years and still love to use kits to get my albums completed easily and with so much joy.

Welcome to our July Blog Hop....

If you have come from Jo's blog welcome and I hope you are enjoying reading about all the ideas and being inspired. Welcome Jo to our blog hop. the more the merrier and I love all our adventurous bloggers. If you want to go back to Alison's Blog then follow this link.

The theme for this month is "Stamp of the Month" for July.

July 2017: Storybook Alphabet

Beautiful Stamps, Amazing Discounts

Each month you can purchase a new D-size stamp set, available for one month only, for just $7.50. When you place an order of $75 or more in Close To My Heart products, you qualify for this special Stamp of the Month pricing.
Order at kerrydehring.ctmh.com.au

What is "Stamp of the Month" and why is it so FANTASTIC????
Stamp of the month is a Stamp set created exclusively by Close To My Heart and is only available for purchase during a specified month.  In this case this stamp is only available for July 2017.  You cannot purchase it before or after this month.  All stamps created by Close to My Heart are made on demand. That means that when you order it the company creates that stamp especially for you. That certainly makes me feel special!!!  There are two options of purchasing these exclusive stamps.  One is to purchase it outright at a specific cost - for this July 2017 stamp the cost is $27.00.The second option is to put in an order for other CTMH products to the value of $75.00 then you can purchase the stamp of the month for only $7.50.  This is an outstanding deal and it happens EVERY month with a new stamp.  Why would you not want to own an exclusive stamp every month.

The stamps are always very versatile and this month I decided to create a scrapbooking page with my stamp.
I started with using the letters as a background stamp to create my own paper. I used the 2 x 61/2 inch block
and 2 stamp pads - Pacifica and Emerald to create my background.

I knew I wanted the alphabet type paper as I was doing an education based page - Graduation.

The paper used was the "Adventure Fundamentals".  This paper is wonderful with its patterning that is simple and is from the Annual Inspirations 2016 2017. The embellishments are from "School 7-12 Complements" and really make the page pop.  These products used for this project are all only available to purchase til the end of July 2017.  So if you like the look and would like to follow the page layout then get your products soon before they run out!!!

If you like creating cards then this stamp is perfect also.  Have a look at my website kerrydehring.ctmh.com.au and you will find some examples of what wonderful cards can be made or follow on our blog hop to see what you can find.

Welcome to our June Blog Hop.

If you have come from Jo's blog welcome and I hope you are enjoying reading about all the ideas and being inspired. Welcome Jo to our blog hop. the more the merrier and I love all our adventurous bloggers. If you want to go back to Alison's Blog then follow this link.

The theme this month is to use the colours Glacier, Sapphire and Whisper.  So I got out these colours in my card stock and put them on my desk.  As I was looking at them to get some inspiration I realised that I had been working with these three amazing colours for the last couple of weeks.  I have a group of ladies who get together every month and recently we have been doing the Workshop Your Way by Close to My Heart.  It has been such a joy to do these kits where nearly everything is supplied.  The Workshop My Way that I have been using for this month was the " No Worries" Kit.

What do I like about these kits:

All the paper you need to make 3 double page scrap booking layouts is included.  That is the design paper, plain paper, stickers, ribbon, sequins.  They all mix beautifully together and you can download instructions on exactly how to create the scrapbook pages.  All you need is some adhesive and some photographs.  I so loved this pack that I actually bought two and just need to put my photos on the second set.

The other think I love about these kits is you can do them in a group.  Just get 2 or 3 of you together in a room, around a big table and you can sit and chat and talk through the instructions and within 2 hours you have completed 3 double page scrapbooking pages, add your photos and you feel really proud of what you have completed. You may want to do it on your own and it will not take as long but you won't have someone to chat with, drink tea or coffee and eat biscuits.

Below are my completed pages:

I have a group that gets together once a month on a Wednesday and we make the scrap book pages. Once we have completed our pages we then go ahead and make the cards that are included with the instructions.  Most of the time this does include stamping and so you will need to purchase the stamp sets, thin cuts - maybe, and the stamp pads.  When you are in a group maybe only one of you needs to supply these, unless you want a set for yourself.  In my group I always supply these extra items.  If you would like to join me on a monthly basis to create one of these kits then contact me by email at kerrydehring@hotmail.com and you can join a group already going or we can organise another one.

Well the cards in this kit were wonderful, you made two of each card and below are the ones I made exactly from the instructions:

Once you have finished making up the scrap booking pages and the cards you still have some paper, stickers, ribbon and sequins left.  What I normally do is create as many scrapbook pages and cards as I can with the left overs and all I have to do is supplement by adding some card stock for the backing pages.  What I have left is so little that you can easily put into your scrap box to keep for later but you never feel like you are overwhelmed with too much paper etc.

I hope you have enjoyed hearing about the wonderful Workshop Your Way kits and if you wish to purchase one today or even tomorrow then go to my website at kerrydehring.ctmh.com.au and check out all the brilliant kits to choose from.  They are wonderful and give you so much joy.

National Day of Thanks Blog Hop.

Well this year National Day of Thanks is on Saturday 27 May 2017 and is a day to celebrate people in your life and to send them a message of thanks.  One of the ways is by sending someone you are thankful for a thank you card and I have found that a hand made card from someone is one of the most memorable ways to say thank you.
So how do you make a hand made card that will celebrate this National Day of Thanks.  I have purchased from Close to My Heart some beautiful stamps that can be used to make individual cards to send on this special day.  So today I thought I would highlight some of the stamps you can use.

First stamp is "Happy Heart" A1192
http://kerrydehring.closetomyheart.com.au/Retail/Product.aspx?ItemID=9454&ci=6835
You are able to make some beautiful quick cards as the sentiments hold their own and all you need is some colourful cardstock or paper.

Second Stamp is "All the Thanks" B1536.
This stamp is so easy to use on the outside of your card or as a sentiment inside.  Using different stamp pad colours help make these sentiments stand out beautifully.
http://kerrydehring.closetomyheart.com.au/Retail/Product.aspx?ItemID=9462&ci=6841

Third stamp is "Scripty Thankyou" A1206
This is a special stamp because it also has a Thin Cut that will cut out the perfect oval shape to place this stamp on and then attach to your card or box and it is ready to give with a grateful heart.
