How to make your own Colour In Book....

How to make your own Colour In Book

Using the wonderful Close to My Heart Stamps.

I have been so excited by the new craze of colouring in books for Adults.  There have been lots of wonderful articles written about the benefits of colouring in. The quote from the article in the "Huffington Post" by Elena Santos on 13 October 2014 says it all - "The practice generates wellness, quietness and also stimulates brain areas related to motor skills, the senses and creativity."
I was at the airport a little while ago and it was a joy to see colouring in books available at the airport book shop.  They are exceptionally good quality and the designs were beautiful.  The designs reminded me of the beautiful quality of my Close To My Heart stamps.  I have used my stamps on cards and scrapbook pages - colouring in on white paper and adding them to my creations.  I was always a bit frustrated that I could only colour them once and then they would be put into my scrapbook album or sent to a friend on a card.  I was looking at my cricut cutting machine the other day and remembered that this machine cuts great small scrapbook books.  Could I use a combination of those small scrapbook books and the wonderful stamps and make my own colour in book.  Well I have had a play and below is my first attempt at my own colour in book.

The Font Page Making it very Personalised
The book was made using my Cricut machine and using the "Artbooking Collection" which is available through CTMH  I made a mini book at the size of 5.5". So the book is a perfect size to put into my hand bag. The Title was also created on my Cricut Machine. On this page I used the "Ice Cream Dream" Stamp - this was a "Stamp of the Month" so is not available any more - but so lovely to colour in.

On this page I used
"Great Job" C1588 to make the beautiful flourish and "Classy Doily" B1424 which is stunning.  I am so looking forward to trying the Shin Han markers on these beautiful stamps.
Here is the beautiful flourish on this page - I wanted to colour it again and try the Watercolor Pencils on this page. Then I had to put in the gorgeous owls. I love owls and can't wait to colour these in with the pencils as well.  This stamp is not available for sale anymore but am glad I bought it when it was.
Look at this beautiful flower which is going to be coloured in with Shin Han markers.
The stamp I used was
"Exotic Flower"  and the gorgeous plane and balloon are from "Lifting Spirits" C1570. Plane and Balloons, with the fluffy clouds would look lovely coloured in with the Watercolour pencils.

This page shows off the elegant shopping women - which was a favourite Hostess Stamp called "Better with a friend". It is truly stunning and so fantastic to colour in that I had to have it in my book.  The other page is of true blue Australian Animals and the Close to My Heart Stamp "Australian Salutations" C1585 is excellently drawn and brilliant to colour in.

I really enjoyed creating my own colouring in book and will spent some time finishing it over the next couple of weeks.  When I have I will post another blog showing you my efforts.  They will not be perfect but I am sure I will have fun while doing it.  If you have some wonderful Close to My Heart stamps that you love - why don't you make your own colouring book.  If you do send me a message and let me know what you did and how you did it.
