Crafty Cards and Crocheting

Crocheting and knitting is another of my passions along with card making and scrap booking. I got the pleasure in the last week to make a beautiful card for a new baby and crochet some lovely booties and a hat to ward off this cold weather.

This was a very simple card to make using the most gorgeous stamp set "Wild Wonders" C1558.  It was great fun stamping the animal designs in Chocolate Ink then adding a little extra colour with my Shin Han Marker.  The sayings on this stamp set are so gorgeous and not just for little boys but for girls as well.  The paper was using one of the pages from my "Modville" Crush book.

Along with creating the beautiful card I managed to crochet this lovely hat and booties.  I do a fair bit of crochet but always find booties one of the hardest things to make.  The hardest thing being to make both booties the same size as my tension is always all over the place.  After many attempts I managed to get them to be the right size together.
Also this week we celebrate Mark's Dad's 85th Birthday and of course I always love to mark the occasion with a great card.  Though he lives so far away and we cannot be there on the day, at least a hand made card keeps you close.

This card is one of my favourites, inspired by Christine, from Christine's Creative Capers.

It uses the masking method where you use a round shape to create the moon and sponge or daube ink onto the white circle to create a landscape.   I used three inks to do this effect, Chocolate, Desert Sand and Sky.  Then added the beautiful tree from "Always Grateful" C1559.

Also using another  page from the Modville Crush book, July 2014 Stamp of the Month and some washi tape that I found was the right colour, then embellished with "Durable Artisan Squares"

Most of the projects this month were using stock that is on the "Retiring" or "While Supplies Last" lists. If you would like any of these products please go to my website at kerrydehring.ctmh.com.au or click the "Shop with me" tab and check out the products on these lists.  Some of these items will not be available after 01 August.  Go on my "Jump on it July" order and place your order to get all your products delivered direct to your door.  If not send me an email at kerrydehring@hotmail.com and tell me what products you would like and I can order them for you, but delivery costs will be higher.

Enjoy the wintery weather and maybe someone will make you a warm winter hat.
